Sauna Paistaa began
with a simple idea:

when people choose a piece of land,
the very first thing they do
is build a sauna.

In recent years,
with the growing sauna boom,
you often hear about
accommodations with private saunas.
While we are happy to see
more saunas appearing,
when we return to the essence
of Finnish culture,
we believe in something different.
First, build the sauna.
This is the Finnish spirit.
Build the sauna first,
then build the house.
This idea does not mean
that the accommodation simply has a sauna.
But it is also not exactly
that the sauna has a place to stay.
It is something slightly different.
It means:
It is an exceptional sauna.
And you can stay there.
This perspective is entirely unique.
The place we have created here
will continue to evolve.
The very first structure we built
was SAUNA MUKKI — a small sauna cabin.
Each time you visit Sauna Paistaa,
you may find something new.
Perhaps a new deck terrace,
a room for sleep,
or even a garden.
In this way, the place grows slowly,
much like a traditional
Finnish summer cottage.
Over many years,
and through connections with many people,
it continues to take shape.
Sauna Paistaa began
from the friendship between
Kenkichi, the founder,
and Teemu, the Finnish sauna advisor.
Their shared idea was simple.
“Let’s build a sauna here.”
That was the beginning
of the Sauna Paistaa story.
